A stylized wolf’s fang carved from a tight grained white and caramel Siberian jade
The wolf has received a very bad press in ancient China and in the West. It has often been used to portray evil and danger. In spite of this it is one of my favourite creatures. A wolf mates for life. A male wolf will never attack a mate however much it is provoked. Wolves work for the good of the pack, not themselves. They make a point of caring for the sick, and protecting their elderly and their young.
An adult grey wolf’s fangs can be more than two inches long. It has an incredibly strong bite, powerful enough to crush bone. For me a pendant carved in jade in the shape of a wolf’s fang is a powerful amulet of protection.
