Very pleased with this one. Simple but elegant design where I’ve teased out the YinYang symbol using the brown rind of this section of a Siberian river pebble. The YinYang symbol, known as the Taijitu (太極圖), represents the dynamic balance of opposing yet complementary forces in the universe. The symbol is beautifully simple yet conveys complex ideas through its geometry: The Outer Circle represents the boundless, infinite universe. The S-Curve that divides it symbolises continuous, fluid movement and shows that the transition between opposites is never rigid.

The dark side represents Yin, while the white side represents Yang. To many these two sides represent feminine and masculine energies. Yin, as feminine, is characterised by receptivity, nurturing, intuition, and stillness; Yang, as masculine, is characterised by activity, initiative, logic, and movement. They are equal in size, indicating equilibrium.

A white dot sits inside the darker half, and a dark dot sits inside the white half. This indicates that each force carries the seed of its opposite and possesses the potential to transform into it. They are opposites, yet they cannot exist without one another
