The gamble that jade merchants take when they buy a cobble of jade is well known. They won’t know for sure until they cut into it whether or not there is gem quality jade inside. There are many short films on Chinese social media that suggest the amateur can make a fortune by gambling in this way. They show a person, usually a pretty girl, buying a small cobble, finding superb gem quality jade inside and selling it on for a huge profit. There are very few films that point out this is a huge gamble and a surefire way of losing your shirt. There are some though. And this is one of them. It’s a delight to watch
