An invitation

I have been commissioned to write a fantasy trilogy based on ancient Chinese mythology. The hero of the story is a semi mythical warrior, called Wēngzhòng, who lived during the reign of the first Chinese emperor, Qín Shǐ Huáng. I learned about him while I was being taught the art of jade carving in Suzhou. Craftsmen in China have been carving his likeness as a pendant to ward off evil spirits and bad luck for more than two thousand years. The more I learned about this legendary warrior, the more fascinated I became. There are many stories surrounding him. Most of them are woven into the trilogy.

The first book in the series has been written, the cover is in the works (preliminary sketch below). In anticipation of its release, I have launched a weekly blog, using my Avatar, Yama, Lord of the Ten Hells, to share my favourite books in the fantasy genre. If you are interested, please give it a listen. It is called Lord Yama’s Fantasy Book Review. They are short, sharp podcasts, only a few minutes in length.

The podcast can be found on Apple, Spotify, YouTube, Facebook and my new AUTHOR WEBSITE. Just click on the photo of Lord Yama or the preliminary sketch for the book cover, to watch or listen. If you enjoy the podcast, please consider subscribing or following. And of course, if you have no interest in fantasy, then please ignore this post. More on jade will follow soon. Although I have to say that jade features strongly in the story so far.
