The latest design from the Jade Fiend studio
A jade Bagua pendant carved from the sweetest caramel coloured Siberian jade and finished with an 18k gold bail.
The Eight Trigrams (known as Bagua 八卦 in Chinese) are an ancient system of symbols used to represent the fundamental principles of reality, nature, and cosmic balance. In this design they are carved around the Yin-Yang symbol (the Taijitu) which is the source from which all eight trigrams emerge. It is a protective amulet to promote harmony and ward off negative energy.
Each trigram consists of three lines stacked vertically. Solid lines (——) represent Yang energy: active, masculine, hot, and creative. Broken lines (-- --) represent Yin energy: passive, dark, feminine, cold, and receptive.
This traditional design, also known as the Early Heaven Bagua, represents perfect, unchanging cosmic balance. Heaven (☰) is placed at the top, directly opposite Earth (☷) at the bottom. . When someone wears a jade piece carved with the Bagua , they are wearing the shorthand version of the philosophy of I Ching, also referred to as The Book of Changes, which is a 3000 year old text designed to guide people during times of change.
