Jade hunting in Xinjiang

I fell in love with this carving the moment I saw it. Fantastic use of the different colours and textures and flaws in the stone to tell a story, that story being hunting for jade in north west China. The whole stone has been used, front and back. I take my hat off to the artist who saw the story in the stone and then teased it out by taking away as little material as possible.
